Aaaaaaaaand Santa!
Why did no one ever tell me that Dave Foley of the Kids in the Hall (and NewsRadio!) once put a Christmas special? I just found out about Dave Foley's The True Meaning of Christmas Specials today when the KITH Facebook page posted an article about it. I gave it a watch and it's funny! And if you've got a hankering to see some KITH and SCTV alums, Mike Myers, and a bunch of other notable Canucks, it's essential viewing.

Put a candy cane in that appletini.
I commemorate the holiday season each year by purchasing a new ornament. A few weeks ago I was perusing World of Mirth's wares when I saw... a Zach Braff Christmas ornament. Why does this exist?! Who would sell such a thing, let alone make it? At once I knew that it had to be this year's ornament. Now I just wish there was one of Brown Bear I could hang up next to it.

"Christmas Tomorrow"
More Christmas caroling from Billy Eichner (kind of). I may have just found the "hidden track" for next year's Christmas mix.

A whole new (yellow) world...
It was 24 years ago today that The Simpsons Christmas Special - the first episode of the series - aired, giving my life new meaning. I say that with only a hint of hyperbole.

"Sorry, Hip-Hop Santa. I can't dance with you this year. I made a promise."
"Max is going to be eggnostic for the day, pun intended."
"I'm not saying there is eggnog. I'm not saying there's not eggnog. What I'm saying is, there's no way to know for sure."
And the winner of Best Christmas Episode of 2012 goes to Happy Endings, in which Jane outs herself as a Christmas baby and her friends try to throw her a birthday party free of the seasonal trappings. I swear, it's so funny that I've watched it three times already. This show is sorely underwatched and I will be pretty upset if it gets the axe.
Speaking of axes, runner up goes to American Horror Story, with it's Murder Santa and whatnot. It's batpoop crazy as usual, but this time with a Yuletide zest.
Honorable mention goes to The League for introducing the concept of a mall Krampus. We really should look into making that happen.

Hava nagila, baby.
The first time I ever heard "The Dreidel Song" sung was in this episode of The Critic. Therefore, I will always associate it with an Arnold Schwarzenegger impression.
Happy last night of Hanukkah!

Does this make Charlie Brown Vincent Vega and Lucy Mia Wallace?
Don't forget that A Charlie Brown Christmas is on tonight.

This just reinforces my Mrs. Claus fetish for another year.

Last night's Christmas-themed episode of Community was great, full of fun songs, the usual rapidfire jokes, and a wonderful takedown of Glee. Since I've long been a big fan of Alison Brie, the highlight was Annie in a Santa suit and the "diminishing returns" of her decreasingly sexy/increasingly air-headed song and dance, of course. Yar, the above animated GIF will keep me company on those lonely nights at sea.
Here's hoping this was just a mid-season finale and not a series finale.
